Finding eBooks

The Library is the final stages of improving access to eBooks.

We have already included all of our eBooks in the eJournal Portal (and we will in time re-name this service to reflect this change) and we are now importing records for all of these eBooks into the Library Catalogue. This process will take around 2 more weeks to complete.

The records we are importing include jacket images to help you identify the titles you are interested in as well as a new way of connecting to the books. This adds a new webpage between the catalogue and the eBook. Changing this enables us to ensure that the access details are current and maintained.

It is also now possible to search just the eBooks collections in the Library Catalogue. To do this use the ‘keyword’ search option and include a ‘library’ limit of ‘eBook Library’. All results that are returned will be eBooks available online.

Recently the following eBook collections have been enlarged: eBrary (now over 47,000 titles), Oxford Scholarship Online (3 new modules) and ACLS Humanities eBooks.
