Hands up who's using Summon ?

The recent international pop-up Summon user survey revealed:

• 52% of users were Undergraduate students, 21% of users were Graduate students, and 6% we PhD students
• 93% of users were satisfied with the search results and 92% of the users would recommend the system to others

• 69% of users use Summon at least once per week and 15% of users use Summon at least once per month

• 68% of users are using Summon for a research paper or project

• 93% of users find what they are looking for with Summon

• 96% of users are able to access the content that they have found in Summon

• 86% of users are searching for Journal Articles

• 42% of users who did not find what they are looking for would turn to Google and 28% of users would try a different database


If you haven't tried Summon yet you may find it an effective way to start your research and if you have used it but didn't find what you should discuss it with your Library staff who will be able to provide some advice on how to refine your search strategy.
