Annual eResources Review

Each year the University Library conducts a review of the entire suite of our subscription resources –databases, e-book collections, research portals and individual journal subscriptions (both print and electronic) – to determine what resources we should be adding to the collections in order to better support our teaching and research activities. As a result of last year’s review a significant number of new resources were added to the collections.

During the month of April the Library is inviting all staff and students to contribute to be involved in the review by suggesting resources they want to access from their local library or from the shared eResource collections.

How do I make a recommendation ?
You can make recommendations online using a ‘webform’ located here.  From this page you can also see a list of the resources which have been recommended by others and comment on them.

What happens to the recommendations ?
All suggestions received by the end of the review will be considered by the Library's E-Resource Management Working Group who will make a recommendation to the Library Management Committee about which resources we will be seeking to add in 2014. Final decisions depend on the availability of funds to support the subscriptions we wish to make available.

How do I find out what resources the Library already provides access to ?

You can see all of the existing eResources here and you can see whether we hold a journal by searching for this journal by title in the Library catalogue.
