New Look University Library website

We have made some changes we have made to the University Library website to make it easier to navigate and use.

The key changes are:

·        Video Tutorials (link from the home page) – Library staff have produced some short video clips aimed at assisting students to undertake effective research.  Two of these tackle the sometimes overlooked skill of analysing a research question.  We plan on developing more of this content in 2015.
·         eResources – we have bundled all of our electronic resource collections (ejournals, databases, ebooks, ‘streamed’ video) into a single A-Z listing (these were previously on distinct pages based on the format of the resources).  We have used a legend to help you to see at a glance the type of resource and included a ‘more’ link you can use to read a description of the resource.  Wherever possible the content of these resources are discoverable within Summon (some resources, such as diagnostic tools, are not well suited to discovery in Summon)
·         How Do I Find – we have developed a series of pages that provide guidance on how to find different resources types (e.g journal articles).  These are meant as starting off points for students struggling with the discovery process and provide them with paths for this discovery and ways to access support.
·         UNDA Style & Referencing Guides – we are developing a comprehensive set of guides to support the University’s three approved referencing styles.  The layout for these guides is finalised and we are now fine tuning the content for use in 2015.  The emphasis is upon clear and succinct advice with pathways for the resolution of more complex questions and problems.

The website will show in a mobile version if accessed via a phone or tablet device.
