Library Webpages Currently Being Updated

The Library is currently reviewing the material posted to the 'Library' webpage and those page that sit below this page.

You will notice changes to this page as we edit the content and move links to new locations.  Any changes will be made in order to ensure that the information provided is accurate and that the organisation of this information is logical.

Key changes to date include:
  • Creation of a 'Forms' page which provides links to all of the library forms.  You will find a variety of forms including those for recommending purchase of a library resource, placing a document delivery request, and reporting a problem accessing a database.
  • Creation of a 'Policies' page which provides to links to PDF copies of Library policies.
  • Creation of a link to the Library FAQs Knowledge Base.  This is a source of answers to questions about using Library services.  If your question is not answered please use the 'Comments' section to send us the question and we will provide an answer in the Knowledge Base.
We will be reviewing the entire Library segment of the web over the coming months and will provide advice where we make major changes.

FAQs for the University Library

Using a Library in 2008 has become a complex business.

The range of services we can offer is increasing all of the time, mainly as a result of networked ICT. However, this increasing availability of electronic information comes with the cost of understanding how to use the variety of products used to provide access to this information.

In an effort to reduce the confusion that we know exists amongst library users about using the services we offer, the library has launched an FAQ knowledge base .

We have begun to 'populate' the knowledge base with questions and answers but we aim to significantly increase these during the course of the year. We will use our own knowledge of the service and the questions library users pose to develop this service.

In many instances the FAQs will point you back to our webpages or those of vendors we deal with but the aim of the service is to centralise useful information into one easy to search central point.

We would be pleased to get questions from you (post them from within the FAQs) or feedback regarding this service.
